January 2017 and the Muslim Ban
All the images in this gallery emerged from the January 2017 Muslim Ban and show my panic at how the new regime was treating its people: as enemies. Words crying for help, scrawled on prison walls, flooded me and came out as the images in the Messages on Prison Walls series.
